Regulation EU REACH 1907/2006. Identification of articles with SVHC substances.

The Article 33 of EU REACH REGULATION 1907/2006 imposes the obligation to communicate to our Customers the presence in supplied articles of substances included in the list referred to in Article 59 of the REACH REGULATION “Candidate list of substances of Very High Concern” (SVHC), in a concentration greater than 0.1% weight by weight.

Companies supplying articles containing substances of very high concern (SVHCs) on the Candidate List in a concentration above 0.1% weight by weight (w/w) on the EU market have to submit information on these articles to ECHA through the SCIP database: a database for information on “Substances of Concern In articles as such or in complex objects (Products)” established under the Waste Framework Directive (WFD).

The only SVHC that can be present in NUPI’s product is LEAD with a % above the stated limit of 0.1% w/w present in some brass alloy.

The brass alloys are used for the threaded brass transition, for the electrofusion PINs of electrofusion fittings and for some fittings body and components.

The material is listed in the positive list for metal materials in contact with drinking water from UBA (German environmental agency) and 4MS acceptance scheme for metallic parts in contact with drinking water.
