Multilayer Piping and BRASS and PPSU Mechanical Pressure Fittings System for the transport of Drinking Water

MultiNUPI is a system of multilayer pipes and BRASS and PPSU mechanical pressure fittings for the transport of drinking water.

MultiNUPI fittings are of “press-fitting" type, i.e. with mechanical pressure. The innovation of the MultiNUPI system is the integration of the new MULTI-PRESSING range which allows to switch from a single clamping system (using only "U" profile jaws) to a multiple clamping system, suitable for 5 different types of clamps: TH - U - H - B – F.

"The fitting conforms to the clamp!"

It will no longer be necessary to change the equipment according to the type of fitting, but it is the fitting that adapts to the equipment already supplied. The fittings are available with BRASS and PPSU body.

The range of fittings of the MULTI-PRESSING system includes diameters from 16mm to 32mm with the addition of diameter 20x2mm. Diameters 14mm and 40mm to 63mm are only available in single clamping system.

The fittings are made up of:

A BRASS or PPSU body
2 EPDM O-Rings on each profile
Stainless steel clamping bush for each spigot
Plastic support ring for each bush

The assembly of all the fittings is carried out by compressing the stainless-steel bush with the appropriate pressing tool on the pipe end after having flared and calibrated the pipe.

The mechanical seal is given by the geometry of the fitting profile which, once assembled, combines with the inner surface of the pipe (compressed by the bush), while the hydraulic seal is guaranteed by the EPDM O-Rings.

MULTI-PRESSING: THE FUNCTIONING

A special spacer specifically designed for the use of the fitting with the TH clamp (one of the most common on the market) prevents the brass fitting from coming in direct contact with the multilayer pipe, thus avoiding contact between aluminum and brass - the so-called 'stack effect'. The spacer also has the task of supporting the stainless-steel reinforcing bush which guarantees a greater pressure force of the pipe on the fitting.

THE PIPE

The MultiNUPI system offers a multilayer pipe composed of 5 layers perfectly joined together thanks to an innovative technology resulting from avant-garde equipment.

MultiNUPI pipe is composed of:

An outer high-density polyethylene layer
An adhesive layer
An intermediate aluminium alloy layer
An adhesive layer
An inner PERT layer

Thanks to the presence of aluminium, the MultiNUPI pipe is extremely malleable and quick to install.

The combination of different materials allows to obtain a pipe with high mechanical resistance and great reliability, even at high temperatures and pressures.

The MultiNUPI system is suitable for the transport of drinking water and is in conformity with Circular Letter no.174 dated 4th April 2004 released by the Italian Ministry of Health.
