Niron Clima Cool Pro

PP-R Piping System for UV APPLICATIONS

NIRON U.V. PIPING SYSTEM

THE MAXIMUM EVOLUTION OF POLYPROPYLENE
Polypropylene is a material that fears direct exposure to UV rays, as they cause an oxidized surface layer that could compromise the mechanical performance of the material for long-term exposure. The use of appropriate additives added to the base polymer prevents the onset of degradation phenomena and allows the maintenance of the product’s long-term performance.

All the parts not chemically protected must be physically protected with a special self-amalgamating bitulic white tape.

The new NIRON Clima Cool-Pro System has a UV stabilizing masterbatch in addition to the renowned qualities of PP-RCT. This masterbatch allows full continuity of sun protection throughout the installation.
The PP-RCT used in the NIRON Clima Cool-Pro System i.e., white polypropylene, is admixed with a specific masterbatch loaded with antioxidant agents that guarantee the maintenance of the performance characteristics of the product, even if subjected to the ultraviolet component of the solar radiation for a long period. This material, adequately stabilized by the producer of the raw material and correctly transformed by NUPI, is therefore not subject to photodegradative phenomena.

ADVANTAGES
The advantages of a white anti-UV layer include:
UV RESISTANCE: thanks to the particular external white PP-RCT which acts as a  photoprotector by inhibiting the UV  rays’ degradative action on the underlying polymer.
UV REFLECTION: lower temperature difference thanks to the external white protection, as we assist to a lower absorption of the solar radiation.
NO CORROSION:  NIRON Clima Cool-Pro are resistant to all degrees of water hardness as well as to many chemicals.
RESISTANCE TO STRAY CURRENTS:  polypropylene is a very poor electrical conductor, thereby avoiding the risk of perforation of the pipe or fittings caused by stray currents.
LOW PRESSURE DROP: NIRON Clima Cool-pro pipes have reduced pressure losses thanks to their smooth surface.
WELDABILITY:  the use of a full polypropylene material allows the pipes to be easily welded by electrofusion welding.

PIPE
The pipe of the NIRON Clima Cool-Pro pipe system is produced using PP-RCT material with an external layer of POLYPROPYLENE duly stabilized to UV rays with a dedicated masterbatch.
As the stress-bearing layer is produced using PP-RCT, the pipe has the high, well known, and standardized performances of this class of polypropylene (Type 4). The mechanical and physical properties fully comply with EN ISO 15874 Standard. The pipe is compliant to the main Standards for the conveyance of potable water.
It can be produced in different thicknesses (SDR 11 or SDR 17). The selection of the proper SDR and design is related to the required operating conditions (see specific tables in the next pages).
The UV barrier layer is integrated to the SDR of the pipe, leaving the external diameter of the pipe (OD) unchanged to allow the standard welding operations. The NIRON Clima Cool-pro piping range includes diameters from 32 mm to 400 mm. Bigger sizes can be supplied upon request.

FITTINGS
NIRON Clima Cool-pro fittings are of the polyfusion, socket or electrofusion type and are produced by adding a UV stabilizer masterbatch to the polypropylene base. This allows the full continuity of the UV protection in the installed pipeline.
