NIRON PP-RCT FOR THE OLYMPIC VILLAGE OF MILANO-CORTINA 2026
OLYMPICS SPECIAL - Nupi Industrie Italiane is proud to have contributed to the construction of the groundwater ring system at the Olympic Village for the 2026 Winter Olympic Games, in the Scalo Romana area of Milan. The groundwater ring system is a sustainable energy system that uses naturally occurring underground water as a source of heat exchange. Through a closed circuit, water is drawn from wells, used to power heat pumps that provide heating and cooling for buildings, and then returned to the groundwater, ensuring energy efficiency and reduced environmental impact. For this strategic project, NIRON BETA pipes in fiber-reinforced PP-RCT with a diameter of 355 mm were installed, a high-performance solution that ensures mechanical resistance, durability, and reliability over time, even in large-diameter applications. This is a concrete contribution to an innovative and sustainable infrastructure, a symbol of Milan's urban redevelopment.
