Marco Rignanese, engineer and Manager of the Major Works Division of NUPI Industrie Italiane, participated as a speaker in a conference of the Order of the Engineers in Bologna. The object of the event was the role of the Project Manager in installations classified as EPC contracts for the general process and the implementation process management. During the speech, NUPI presented the case study of the trigeneration plant built at its headquarters in Busto Arsizio, highlighting the importance of managing the construction phase with the support of a model developed internally using the BIM platform. This approach was fundamental starting from the final phase of the project, both for the choice of the right product for the distribution of the heat transfer fluid (NIRON pre-insulated polypropylene piping systems) and, above all, for the development of the installation of the distribution system in the company's production plant from an ergonomic, cost control and HSE point of view, monitoring the risk of interference with the operators working in the plant, and maintaining high production levels of a company that produces in a continuous cycle on 3 shifts, without incurring in expensive production stops.
