OLYMPICS SPECIAL - Nupi Industrie Italiane contributed to the renovation of the ice rink at the Acinque Ice Arena in Varese, a strategic facility in the network of venues associated with the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games. The project included the complete modernization of the rink's refrigeration system, essential for ensuring uniform ice, temperature stability, and maximum athletic performance. As with the large Olympic arenas, cold is generated via centralized refrigeration units that generate refrigerated fluid (glycol water) distributed through a circuit of pipes installed under the rink's base. The fluid absorbs heat and keeps the ice in optimal conditions for training and competition. For this project, NIRON PP-RCT systems were used, renowned for their mechanical strength, reliability, and quick installation. The system's versatility has reduced construction time and ensured efficient connection to the refrigeration plant, thanks in part to the pre-insulated NIRON ALL-PRO system, which ensures high thermal performance and minimal heat loss. During Milano Cortina 2026, Varese will play a supporting role as a training and preparation venue for ice sports, contributing to the event's organizational structure with modern and technologically advanced facilities. This further confirms Nupi's commitment to developing efficient, sustainable sports infrastructure worthy of the most important international events
